Kylie Minogue has wowed thousands of fans by performing on top of a mountain in an Austrian ski resort. Kylie Minogue performs on stage during the saison closure party of the winter resort in Ischgl, Austria. Kylie says her priorities in life have changed since her treatment for cancer

The pop princess braved icy temperatures, wearing only a pair of black sequinned trousers, a tight-fitting black top, leather elbow-length gloves and black stiletto boots as she sung in the Tyrolean resort of Ischgl – 2,300m high.

An 18,000-strong audience watched the 40-year-old perform old and new tunes at the resort’s Top Of The Mountain gig, which celebrated the end of the ski season.

When talking about life after her cancer treatment, the singer revealed that her priorities in life have shifted.

Minogue said: “I want to kind of, live a bit more. I am still managing to do the work I am passionate about, but in my free time I am actually doing other things. Right now, I hope it lasts, I have a really wonderful balance, I feel very, very grateful.”

Part of that balance also includes the diva’s relationship with Spanish model Andres Velencoso who is 10 years younger than her.

The star is trying to learn Spanish for him, although slowly. She admits: “I just need to put the time in, time and dedication. But we’ll get to that.”

Ischgl is one of Austria’s most popular skiing resorts and celebrates with a celebrity pop performance every year.

Previous years have seen Sir Elton John, The Pussycat Dolls and Rhianna perform at the same event.

Kylie Minogue plots first ever West Coast-heavy tour

International sensation and U.S. pop curiosity Kylie Minogue will stage her first-ever U.S. tour this summer. West Coast fans of the dance artist are in luck, as Minogue will play the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 4, and precede it with dates in Las Vegas (Oct. 3) and Oakland (Sept. 30).

The Australian singer has had moderate success in the U.S. at best, but globally she’s arguably the world’s most popular singer. Billboard reports that her most recent tour, KylieX2008, hit 21 countries and brought in an estimated $70 million in ticket sales.

Meanwhile, the industry publication reports that 2007’s “X” sold just 36,000 albums in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Note, however, that the album was released in America in the spring of 2008, a full year after it had been available on import in other territories.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale May 15. A news release promises that members of Minogue’s e-mail list will receive information on pre-sale offers, which begin Thursday, May 7. Tickets will be offered early to American Express card members as well. Ticket prices have not yet been listed.

Tour dates after the jump.

  • Sept. 30: Oakland, Fox Theater
  • Oct. 3: Las Vegas, The Pearl (Palms Hotel & Casino)
  • Oct. 4: Los Angeles, Hollywood Bowl
  • Oct. 7: Chicago, the Congress Theater
  • Oct. 9: Toronto, Air Canada Centre
  • Oct. 11: New York, Hammerstein Ballroom
